The Object Request Broker (ORB) is the heart of the OMA and of CORBA. It allows objects to interact with each other regardless of the platforms they reside and execute on. The ORB is the coordinating core for all objects in the system, receiving and processing requests and responses from objects and from requesting clients across the network. A client requesting an object gains access to it through the ORB. The ORB provides a layer of abstraction between the client and the application. CORBA objects are prohibited from interacting directly with each other. When two objects do have to communicate, they do so through an interface. These interfaces are in turn based on a set of OMG defined specifications known as the Interface Definition Language (IDL). Applications use IDL to create common interfaces with which clients and objects can interact with other objects independent of the underlying programming languages and platforms they have been designed to run on. IDLs in turn are mapped to any programming language using an appropriate IDL compiler. As interfaces are designed to be language independent, accessing the CORBA object is relatively simple. Multiple ORBs communicate by means of a messaging protocol known as Internet InterOperable Protocol (IIOP). Structure and Action of ORB Figure 18 2 shows the structure of the ORB. Dreamweaver brings the same power of links with a lot more flexibility to any event with the Go to URL action. One of the trickier tasks in using frames on a Web page is updating two or more frames simultaneously with a single button click. The Go to URL action handily streamlines this process for the Web designer. Go to URL can also be used as a preload router that sends the user to another Web page once the onLoad event has finished. The dialog box for Go to URL (see Figure 19-11) displays any existing anchors or frames in the current page or frameset. To load multiple URLs at the same time, open the drop-down list and select the first frame that you want to alter; then enter the desired page or location in the URL text box. Select the second frame from the list and enter the next URL (or Browse/Choose to find it). If you select a frame to which you have previously assigned a URL, that address appears in the URL text box.
